00:01:42       so, so Christian, this is all you because I'm going to let you explain what's going on. So this is the next expansion, right? For, for next, the way that the pod to the side of the next chapter for destiny two shadow fall, right? A shadow from that shadow fall channel up. So Christian, what is it?

00:02:03       Destiny to shadow keep is the next expansion. However, it's, there's a couple of other big changes coming with the game. Most importantly, cross save is coming to all platforms minus pf four on September 17th, I believe. Or it might be September 14th, um, sometime in September. And what this means is that you can bring characters with you across platforms. So what more importantly, this means that um, a certain other cohost can, I'll get back into destiny two and we could play this game together because, because if, if he was to pick up shadow keep, he could be playing on PC. And then whenever I'm like, Yo, let's play some destiny, hop on x box where your character over and then bring your changes back to PC and, right.

00:02:46       Right. So there's no cross play but it is cross saves. So DB,

So that's actually really good because the one reason I wouldn't mind like playing more destiny two, I do enjoy the basic yeah. Basically uh, like gameplay loop on like I would love to play with some more story content or whatever, but like the only, the only thing that's keeping me back, cause I don't really want to play on the Xbox one and I have the base game on PC, uh, because they gave it away for free a while back. Uh, so I have it, but I don't want to like restart. Like did the character progress like this? I don't want to do that. Like I don't want to sit through that. Yeah. That story again because that's, that campaign was questionable. Uh, so like,

00:03:53       and at the very least, um, this also leads into destiny two New Light, which is a free to play version of the game, which essentially will come with the base game. Um, destiny to Cursillo Cyrus and I say to you, wore mind. So I mean it's come September. You also get those two expansions by having to pay for them. Um, so there's some stuff to just play through. What do when you get your character over.

00:04:12       Yeah. I only have the base going like no, no DLC, no expansions, thought thing. So,

00:04:17       and it's also a pretty nice that, um, you don't have to buy every expansion now you can just buy a shadow, keep if you only want to play shadow keeps stuff. Or if you do want to play through the forsaken campaign, you can't purchase that as well. So essentially they're making the base game for you to play. And then any expansion you want, you just purchased. And you'll get access to seasons worth of content is how a Bungie is doing it now, right. There's like a $40 expansion and then you could buy a season piecemeal or buy an annual pass for each season and that gets, you know, more end game content and um, specific rewards and other progression schemes that are only, you know, accessible if you purchased that, which I think is a pretty fair model of doing it.

If leading it to being more of an RPG, like they're really driving like, um, customizable armor. Um, say for example, you have the look on one piece of hardware but you want the stats of another piece of armor. But with does expansion do, you can take out mods on other armor and apply it to yours, right. To sort of build, you know, customize your own armor builds that way. And you can also grind for a enhancement cores. They'll let you do what's master working a piece of armor, which is already in the base game, but it's getting enhanced in this expansion. So outside of, you know, finding gear that you think looks good, they now give you an incentive to, you know, grind up that piece of gear to perfect out the stat roller, get the stat role you want, which I've already been doing what weapons for a little bit, which I think it's good that they're leaning into that cause it outside of, you know, taking a more power. It gives you like something else to look to while playing the game.

00:06:20       Yes. Yes. The customization aspect of RPGs. I think pretty important. And I'm glad that they're expanding more than I was like destiny always. Like the first destiny was very limited. Right? Customization wise, like does the gear you got and that's basically it being apply like one color to your [inaudible]. This is pretty limited. Uh, I'm like, that's a, to sort of expand on that a little bit and now they're pulling into it, which is like for longterm, I think that's the stuff that keeps people coming back. It's just like that's the stuff that keeps people invested. Right? Right.

00:06:52       Like getting that perpetual best build. Right. And like best is different for everyone. So everyone's chasing for different, yeah.

00:06:57       Yeah. Unlike the, the ability to customize and have the look that you want is huge. That's good. And destiny two will be on PC. Uh, this is cotton coming to steam September 17, so, okay. So I guess they're moving from [inaudible] to steam. Right. I think that's the plan.

00:07:15       Definitely. Any, anything you purchase we'll get migrated over. So we're characters and all of that. Oh. So you won't have to Rebuy it a game or anything like that. Cool.

00:07:59       awesome. My favorite thing about this announcement for shadow keep is that bungee was like, yeah, due to our contract to act division, we actually could have bring cross Dave. We've had this built into the game for the past two years.

00:08:08       I mean, I'm not surprised this is, this is, this doesn't sound like something that would be, that will be done in the last like month or something like that. The seems like he was already thought of for a long time because in this like it's from technical perspective it seems pretty simple. Right? And like it just, it is just that, uh, the, the, the, the, the content, the characters, uh, the progressions all, all stored on bungee servers. So it's not, it's not like, it's not like they have move or migrate data like they already have it. So it's like the ability to do that and it's just, you know,

00:08:41       it's just contractual obligations. But now that those regards, it's bungees now, its own publisher of this game. MMM. So like I'm, I'm pretty excited for the future of this. More importantly, I'm, I like the ability to move [inaudible] I don't think, I don't actually think I've ever going to build gaming PC. Like I, I talk about it all the time. But what I could do if you don't want to replant Xbox because I can just get it, the stadium version of it. Right. And that's technically the PCF.

00:09:11       stadia should have, it should be able to play a PC players. They haven't said anything about that yet, but if they don't, that doesn't make sense to me. Right. Is like you could do stadium for mouse and keyboard or, or controller and um, and I dunno, I guess I know why they're today. Don't do, you know, cross play because besides it being a technical challenge, um, obviously you're going to get destroyed if you're playing PC VP and also weapons are extremely, they're differently balanced for the, um, four PC versus console. So even if you're doing like a raid together, great. Like the builds you have to use, it gets messy because you have to, you have a whole different damage system for the console players just because they're playing with a controller of emesis versus the PC players.

00:09:55       Yeah. I mean I wasn't expecting cross play. Oh, I mean that would have been ridiculously awesome. But like, I don't think like this type, like feasible for budget to actually do that. Uh,

00:10:06       yes. Even just because of how the weapons of balanced, you know, how characters cause like run speeds and suffer different on PC too. So there's like a lot of little differences that you need. Affordance is given to a mouse and keyboard version of the game that you kind of have to either nerf or somehow make even if you're playing with them. Right. Because then you can be on console, right. You bring in a PC player and they're gonna like when the raid for you and that sort of make, make, uh, breaks the economy.

00:10:27       We have the game. Yeah. And Briggs progression and breaks, balance and breaks a lot of things and it's not easily fixable, which is understandable. At least we're getting the cross save which chooses, which is huge. Looking forward to that. Yeah.

00:10:41       Although, um, what the current annual pass to, there's the season opulence disrupt and um, I do want to say it, they're now doing a match made six people PV activities. So it's not a full on raid, but it's sort of like, it's the closest they have for raid where you get like, do you have to get a certain amount of points and you're in this, I'm a castle that has six different rooms, all have different bosses and different objectives. And then there's one final boss at the end and you can be matched made into it. And it's like pretty hard but also like pretty fun. MMM. So I think they found like a good balance.

Like each one, there's a specific set of goals that you don't really need to communicate over on bike to get them done. You just need to actually like do the objective. Okay. And I think bungees of the leaning more towards into that.

00:11:44       Yeah. Because I mean, no one plays rates dedicated. I was about to say, I like raids are brains are like always have been too hardcore for the most hardcore dusty players.

00:11:54       Again, you need a group, you need a significant time investment. Do you need to like, yeah, it's, it's a big, okay. Uh, so yeah, so that's neat to a muse. I guess you'd check the page. They have trailers, they have information on the cross cross if they are not until September. So I guess when, when it comes to in September again, and we can talk about it, uh, let's move on to Ethan proper. Right. Uh, so we, we will start with the, I guess with Microsoft then. Um, so w w w what are you talking about with Microsoft? So Microsoft, we have the biggest thing, we, we're going to get this out of the way first. I think, um, or other, the, the, the new console, uh, project projects correlate it, uh, the deal with the next next generation. Uh, x-box can consoli. It's, um, what is it?

00:12:52       I, there was, there was a lot of big numbers as is usual with, with e three, like it's a lot of, lot of sort of meaningless numbers really. Like I don't think the numbers are all that useful to anybody. Uh, but it's, it's a powerful machine is not going to be like most games on the second to be 30 fps are 60 fps. Uh, one 20 fps, uh, is going to be very, uh, difficult thing for a lot of games at, at high resolutions. Higher than a higher than tending to p or two k like I think it's even two k one 44 is difficult. Like current gen hardware lake, we have one PC and now that's just on PC. Um, and aged care is just, it's, it's gotta be dirty. They aid kit 30 baby. Uh, they get this. If not, it's not going to be at most games.

00:13:47       Probably won't go to Aka. I think. What's the, I think the more important bits on any roles, like specific technical Spec, it's more of that like what, what they're doing with this next console. And also to an extent with Sony's going to be doing with [inaudible] is that they're just taking advantage of the fact that SSDs are cheap enough now. Yes. Um, yes, that is a huge, yeah, that investing in a powerful CPU in a games console actually matters and then they're just bumping the GPU slightly. I don't think that you're getting anything, you know, like double what is in the one acts, but I don't think that's a problem, right. Because I don't think like, I don't think the Xbox one x is like GP is Gpu constraint on most games. I think it's more CPU constraints. You know, I'm most games for getting like peak performance and I think investing, you know, in other aspects minus, you know, like a two x increase the GPU power. Um, of course a more efficient GPU when we go faster memory for it will lead to a more future proof console and be one that gives you far better performance results when games are truly optimize. All right. I'm, I'm looking at, the one thing I want is more games at 10 80 p 60,

00:14:52       like, like dads, the baseline. It's surprising that it's the, it's the based on that we rarely hit still for a lot of games on console is the Tinetti p 60 baseline. Uh, and like usually usually triple A's two years on console optimized for visual fidelity rather than frame rate. Right. They usually try to go for like 30 frames. Uh, and then the, and the, the highest bishop for the fidelity that they can get with 30 friends. But I would like to see more ability, like the ability to do 60 frames per second more games. Uh, like a stable 60. That's, that's what I'm looking for.

00:15:32       I don't doubt that we're going to get there though. Cause the one ax is already there for a good number of games. MMM. Like for it to, right for it to has that four k 30 or 10 80 p 60 mode. A lot of other games. We'll do that. So that's why I, I think the most important part about this announcement though is the fact that everything's forward compatible, right. Every accessory, every game, including the backwards compatible games are going to run on scarlet as launch. And according to Microsoft, it's also gonna be better improved performance on it. Right. So say right now we have a, my fallout four is probably the best example is I'm pretty sure fault for runs in and unlock frame rate on consoles. So the more performance you throw towards it, right, the better. Obviously the more performance and more form of the game is.

00:16:15       So games like that will run better on scarlet because this is still an x 86 you know, compatible CPU system. It's not like you have to do some weird backwards compatibility to get Xbox one games around run. I imagine that they're likely gonna ship it with a profile for the GPU that tries to mimic the Xbox one x just for games that will you say if you like if you ball up the frame rate's too high rate game logics tied to the frame rate. So it breaks the game. Like I would assume they'd have some sort of like backwards compatible profile for the GPU, but you don't, it's all direct x, right? Like I don't think direct x 30 is even a thing yet. So I imagine it's causals by, we do doing direct x 12, just like the Xbox one. Um, of course the x box version of it, but closer to a PC than not, so you can just sort of throw higher powered hardware at it and games.

00:17:03       We'll just run better for free. Have that without really much optimization being needed. Of course, like a developer could go back and patch it for scarlet, but you get that benefit. Ditto for or you know, Xbox one back dear x box one three or x box or 60, sorry. And original Xbox backwards paddle games. You end up getting better performance out of it like you do with the Xbox one x enhanced versions of them right now. So I'm pretty excited about that. I like the, I like the idea of that Microsoft's, I'll just being like, well fuck it. We'll just make everything run since the fact that like if somebody says the PS five, right, that it's like, oh, it won't be backward compatible, ps four. Well, no, it's kind of bullshit because they're both just pcs at the end of the day. Right? Like there's no technical reason that it can't be backwards compatible. Only a policy reason.

00:17:50       I would expiring the ps five might be backwards compatible with the PS four. Uh, so we'll see. I mean if that's, I think too, like just one more quick thing. I think what Microsoft's going to do is instead of like releasing a cheaper one, I wouldn't be surprised if they just dropped the price down to the one X. Right. And then make scarlet the new high end console. That's what I was like, that's what I am expecting is going to happen. I think that's the reasonable that you can make games until they cross gen too. Right? Like Halo Infinite. It can be across Gen game, right? Like because you, you just, since they're both xad six harbors all running on mds, you know, own architecture, there's nothing custom about the silicon that really makes you need to run specifically on scarlet. Of course you want ray tracing and all that nice stuff.

00:18:37       Yes. You know, have enabled there. But you could just ship the game of two performance mode, right. One for X. That's obviously reduced the visual fidelity and then one for scarlet. That's you know, Balsa Wall, you know, just ray trace everything. I'm, I'm the, I'm curious because I've been doing ray tracing and I'm, I'm curious about the, they're doing it right. The abilities and the navy gps or navy stuff doesn't support ray tracing and has no hardware on the market right now that supports ray tracing. So it's when Microsoft be making their own custom ray tracing hard for them. I'm curious. Yes. I'm, I'm curious what's actually going to happen in the race racing in front. We'll find out because this is coming on what the holiday 2020. So we are going to be fighting more about this next eat. Definitely going to be seeing more like we're going to be seeing pricing, we're going to be saying, well we're going to see in the launch title, which we are going to be talking about next.

00:19:34       Uh, the launch title for this dimension is going to be a halo infant, which is going to be the next game and the hill franchise. Uh, so Buddhism like the halo, the Halo Father Hill infinite trailer that this showed the, it's all in game and game cut scene. Um, and game rendered. We don't know if it's on like a super powerful PC or scarlet. No one confirmed. No one, no one knows. Okay. And uh, it is sept after hill five set many years after halo five. So this is like, like Halo Lore for a second. Like welcome to the halo, the word corner. So Halo wars two, spoiler alert, I'm sorry, you haven't played halo wars two ends. It ends with like near the end of the halo five where they're teleported to the same half the characters are sent to the same ring inhaler. Fiber Cortona is at launching Cortana Cortana's that launching all the guardians and then halo five proper ends chief and all the people going to that he'll bring as well, right to find Cortana. This game takes place a long time after halo five, half of humanity has been wiped out again.

00:20:47       But see halo wars two ends of the flood being reintroduced like the flood come back in a, um, in a, in a expansion for that game. And so I originally thought this character is from halo wars two.

Like he's iff tag picks up like a master chief in space. So he brings him in him as machines. Uh, okay. Okay. Okay. Power cells are dead.

Like he's just like, uh, like he's constantly in embattled moon and then like the ship gets hit by some sort of, uh, Paul's right. Uh, and the, and then like passage, it was just like closing the door behind the dude in the cockpit. I just like, fuck it exits the ship. Right. I'm just like, okay. All right. So he's going back to the ring and then the end of the, uh, at the end of the little thing, there's a little teaser, uh, with, with Cortana is that's Quartana right? I'm pretty sure that it has to be, I mean, who would, can be like the way she was talking and it's obviously Cortana, like the way she mentioned the master chief and how they were meant to be, which was, which is interesting, uh, is, is, is Cortana and she and that, that place in the, in the ring, it looks like the control center from Hilo, what they remember. Do you remember the, uh, the Control Center for the rain in Halo one where you had to go like plug in the index or whatever? Right. Or what was that? That was the, I think that that's what happened. Uh, so that looks like the Control Center for that particular ring. So I'm wondering is is the game going to be set like mostly on that rank? Are we going to be going elsewhere? I don't think that's good. Uh,

00:23:25       and do you, do you think though that's a good, a good thing that they're jettisoning especially the storyline from five p's even, right. Even if, even if like some of these characters reappeared it, it's so many years afterwards that like there's,

00:23:39       it's essentially a clean break. Like it's like, it's sort of like, like half clean break. Like they don't have to, they could just be like, yeah, like he'll, I mean he'll fight happened, but it was like, it's not really important to, to the, so the story right now, which I read, I actually pretty fine with it to be honest. He'll find story was, was uh, that's just what it politely and say it was bad because I have, I have more thoughts, but I don't even remember half the story at this point because it was so bad. And then the boss fights in hill five or obnoxious. Uh, so yeah, like I'm, I'm not, I don't have a problem with halo five sort of baked into your rear view mirror and very far away. Like, I don't have a problem with that. Uh, um, I'm doing, I'm curious like did like gay or going back to master chief as the protagonist, which is fine, but I think like, I dunno, we are people like ready to come back to bastion. Is protagonist again or like, I don't know. Uh,

Like don't like me and you both know there's going to be a mission where it's just the carbon clone of what's the fucking name of the halo one mission? The one where you discover the flood.

00:24:53       The flood has to be on this ring. I don't know if this is the ring we end of Halo wars two but if it is then the flood are also going to be on this ring.

Like that, that whole, the whole, well it's like that scene where a master's in walks into this room, the door closes behind him and the music is just like fucking it going into it and he finds like, uh, like uh, like a USC dude, like just standard with like the, that USC soldier with like the recorded footage of the flood. Right. Like that the thing that's going to be like a throwback scene like with the introducing like reintroducing the flood in that way. That would be, that may a 104 a throwback. 00:25:47       And what do you feel about multiplayer though, right? Like do you think that, do you think they're going to continue with the of a five cause I feel like if one, the one area of five that actually not wasn't bad in one is the actual regional. Yeah.

00:25:57       Yeah. The moat multiplayer was really good. Yeah. I don't know what the do to be honest. I'm like, I like, I don't know how I'm going to get iterated on it. They can make it better. They can, I wonder how the game is going to feel on the multiplayer.

00:26:14       I don't know why they would kill us. And I think wasn't it success, right. I don't think it was done was it was a war zone. What was that model? Uh, that's a really popular, like not the, no don't want that they originally introduced but the firefight. Yes. A warzone firefight. I think it might make a return, not the other words or modes because I don't think anybody else played those other words than most because like they were really involved. Right. I think we do are really based on having like a proper squat of, uh, people like it's, it's sort of like a destiny raid. Like you sort of have to like,

Where you're just going into this, we're not going to tell you anything about the story and like you just discover it for yourself. Right. Where it's like this is, there's not Laura books that need like everything self contained in the game, right? Like they want everything to be just in this game instead of like having to read a law book beforehand

00:27:43       or novels just to know what's going on. That was a problem with Halo Five, right? A lot of a lot of this stuff until five was set up by stuff like the hunt podcast, which actually is pretty good, which is good, but it's not, I mean it's a, it's good. I think it's good, but it's, it's kind of unfortunate because it was too good and then the, the halo five story didn't live up to the promises, made it in hunt for truth. I think they can conflict to set up this entire scene, this scenario, this to this, the whole thing. But like, you know, five is just disappointing. Ah,

So they are rogue covenant groups that have banded together to try and bring a new era of the Covenant Human War there. They showed up at halo wars two I feel like they're actually convincing enough of like a plot line. Then I think three or four three is likely going to continue it

And there's this more customization options and also as paddles on it. So if you want, you can assign those paddles, be specific buttons, like an Overwatch rate. You could have jumped as be a paddle. That's my problem by problem is if they, if they leave the story as is and just like expand upon it.

So I actually think if you're going to include them in this as an issue is this only takes place in mid guard? Yeah, the first bit. There should be no references to separate than this in this game. Like this specific part of the remake, this episode actually should not have any separate than it ever going with the story. Like a little couple mentions here and there rate, but I have a feeling scraping x is just going to like try and ride that cash, you know? Right. We get all that cast by fucking up the story and making it about the battle between cloud and separate, which is game actually is not right. Like final fantasy seven is a game about ecoterrorism and people struggling with the fact that they're doing really shitty things in order to save the planet. These are the evil corporate eight. Those are some racial composition. But that's, I feel like that's not what this room is going to be focused on and it's going to be focused on cloud being pissy all the time cause separate off took us to lunch.

Yeah. Also yet fun. Fancy six was a top down game. Okay. I mean, I haven't played it. Uh, any of the fun fantasy games before the final fantasy 15 was, I mean, I got curious about it, but not enough trash. Nino play it. But like if this comes out and they know this is like a, been definitively a good game, they get to good green could remake, I've done the original story. Sure. I could give it a shot.

01:03:57       Why not? Like, but I'm gonna wait till this comes out. So we're going to, everybody's going to have to wait until the final fantasy seven remake comes down. At least the first bit of it, I guess. Uh, in 2020, maybe there's other turn based combat which will make you happy person. No turn base combat because I actually, well you can turn on if you want to write like it lets you switch back to like a turn based kind of mode if you want that sort of classic style. It's not required but I just want the animal is no, I mean without the turn based combat. So that's all I want. He knew hearts. No, I want a decent story as well. And that's not kingdom hearts. This said that it's going to be like not a one game but like it's like this is going to be multiple release so you're only getting bed guard, which is like one is just like one, one six. I would say a final fantasy. Yeah, so like you only getting in that one location and all the story bits to take place in seven. Um, which are, they're expanding apparently a whole, a whole bunch of pine but it's not the full game so you're not getting the full story.

But I guess they're doing it just because they a likely or more focused on building the next main line, final fantasy game right now that didn't mention that. Then they give like a tease of what the next one 12 fantasy game is going to be fun in front of. Nope. No they didn't. They didn't do any, they just like announced that like work is underway for [inaudible] 16 I don't think they said anything else about it. Okay. That's like probably like 2025 at this rate. 2027, 20 2030, 20, 30, 20 to 22. Um, and the other thing, the Avengers game, um, I don't have any comments on it to be honest because I don't, I don't like, I'm not into the whole MCU stuff. Uh, like I'm not into ventures. Uh, but Chosa what did you think of of the dean of this new ventures title from Square Enix published by screening.

01:06:23       So it's made by Crystal Dynamics [inaudible] to writer and shadow to crystal that Anik studios in Leon and then in the studio in America and Australia in France. So, so stressed out. What do you think about the whole, the trailer that the showed the CGI trailer? So I think the game will be fine. Like I don't have as many complaints about it. I'll probably maybe pick it up. I don't know. My thing is my issues, it's like they're trying to make it a live service and like why not just make a dedicated story game? You know, I'll, I'll Batman Arkham Knight and all of that. Like crystal Dynamix can make good story driven games but just not as like a fucking life service. Yeah, like just the whole lifestyle has been, it was just like, how is that going to work? Uh, like how's that going to work from a story perspective, their game play perspective.

I'm like, I'm actually not mad about it at all. It's like, it's like to have a CJR trailer and then they have like the screen where it just says the sequel isn't development. Like, like it's fucking, it's like, it's like Nintendo actually doesn't fuck up making games and it's very rare when we have like a bad Nintendo game. So we have more chip faith and trust in that. Yeah, that's kind of, it's weird. It's weird how that works, you know, like how will you make good games and people expect continued to expand good games that you continue to deliver to them.

01:09:34       People build up this thing called trust. Uh, so, so yeah, there's a, there's a lot of things that they sacked and along everybody's dissecting the desire, the trailer, um, with the lower for the lower quarter of Galore. Um, Zelda though has short hair, which everybody's excited about. Uh, short heads, all the, uh, can we get a playable ads? All that can be on that. That's my theory is that Dell does be a playable character in this game. Yes. My Osi please do not steal. Let's see. Um, there is a rematch like a remastered links awakening, a new dungeon creative mode where you can make like a dungeons I guess. Uh, I don't know. Shit, I don't want to link somewhere they, oh wait dash it looks like links awakening was a game boy color game and they're remaking it further switch, cool set on September. It's one of the best the Games September 20 this year. So that's looking forward to, that also doesn't sell at the crypt of the necromancer remake, which is already out cadence of higher rule can. It's pretty good. From what I've heard. I've heard it's been really quite good.

01:13:19       A new third person shooters out, I'm not sure, RPG, uh, trials of man. I don't know anything about the and mountain series, but it's um, it's, it's apparently like a really good, like have more popular in Japan. Then I guess over here there's a port of, what's your three coming to switch? Because senior projects ran obviously has too much money and they need to make more. Uh, there'll be Porsche for resident evil five and six on the sunshine and the fall, uh, pans of dragoon is, is can I get like, this is going to be a remake or something. Um, of this old ass dream cast game, which I'm, I've heard people pretty excited for. Apparently the original one is pretty good on the team at a platinum than working at is working on a new one. 01:14:12       about the, uh, Netflix apparently is bringing a dark crystal, being tactical RPG to switch what that fix. When does it, the way that Netflix get into game development. Okay.
